Men Don’t Listen to Naked Women is a show starring Monique Holt. It is part of the 2012 Capital Fringe Festival, which runs from July 12-29th.
This provocative piece is a one-woman show. Monique will let you know what she thinks. “Oh,” you say, “a naked women thinks.” Well, yes, and talks as well. But, we have found that the hard part is that many people don’t listen. Especially, men. This show tries to get around that. Come and listen with your eyes.
At the Capital Fringe this summer, political stand-up will have its say, and we invite you to listen to Men Don’t Listen to Naked Women, directed by Tim Chamberlain.
MO2 Productions previously presented Are Your Ears Blind?, Desire/Regret and UNcontentED LOVE. To these we add the newest collaboration between Monique Holt and Tim Chamberlain. This new show will help you re-think listening. Who listens? How? And, when. If…
Do you feel heard? Maybe it’s time to explore other ways of speaking.
Monique will tell stories from a unique point-of-view. While you may have heard the stories before, we can guarantee that you haven’t seen these interpretations of them. She is a woman of a certain age. She examines gender interactions and the world with a hands-on approach. Oh, did I say that this show has audience participation?
Have we piqued your interest? Come to The Bedroom at Fort Fringe (612 L Street, NW) in DC on the weekends when you have free time. Bring a date or not. Perhaps you will find someone to talk to. The show has performances July 14th and 15th. The next weekend on the 21st and 22nd. And, closes on July 28th. Just to throw some spice into your week there is a show on Wednesday July 25th. Check out the listing on captialfringe.org. Get tickets online or call (866) 811-4111. And, follow us on Twitter @MO2Naked.
Monique is a seasoned performer. Having done straight plays, dance and devised work as well. She has been an aerial performer, a storyteller and general spitfire. Is it her experience that interests you? Or, on the other hand, is it her heart? Oh, right! It’s her mind!
All performances of Men Don’t Listen to Naked Women are ASL accessible.
