“We’re developing a new brand of rock theatre that challenges the current perceptions of rock in musical theatre,” said Sweeney Todd Director Melissa Baughman. “It involves bringing together experienced metal musicians with theatrical sensibilities, and dynamic musical actors who can straddle the genres.”

Landless will also present their original rock drama Rock Bottom [A Rock Opus] at Warehouse as part of the Capital Fringe Festival in July. The play (based on the novel by Michael Shilling) is directed by Andrew Baughman; co-created by Baughman, Shilling and singer-songwriter Talia Segal.

Part Spinal Tap, part Boogie Nights, Rock Bottom tells the story of the final day of a rock band as it crashes and burns. The band members of Blood Orphans find themselves on a darkly comic tour of frustration, danger, excitement, and just possibly, redemption.
