    Sparkling Entertainment Films

    Sparkling Entertainment Films is casting child actors, singers, musicians, dancers, and models between the age 8-12 only. Film Scenes for the play will start in August. Play Rehearsals start the first week of August- November. Show Dates are in December. Main cast members and minor roles will be paid for the 1st week of show dates. All rehearsals are unpaid. We will have once a week rehearsals until November, one 3-day weekend stage rehearsal in November, and conclude with final stage rehearsals on Dec 1st-2nd and Show dates set for Dec 3rd-5th.

    Fame vs. Buttercup Overall Commitment:
    -Rehearsals: August-November (once a week, one 3-day weekend final rehearsals)
    -Final Stage Rehearsal & Performance Days= Dec 1st-5th (2 stage final rehearsals, 3 full show days)

    – Main Cast Members will receive $540 for the project and if the show does extraordinary well they will get double the salary totaling $1,080.

    -Minor Cast Members will receive $350 or $450 for the project and it will double if the show does extraordinary well to $700 or $900.

    -DANCERS will receive $200 and 2 tickets to the show.

    -EXTRAS will receive $200 and 1 ticket to the show.

    Synopsis: Three middle school students want to live a grown-up life: a singer, manager, and boxer. They accidentally make three wishes on a time machine app that traps them inside their phones. The app places them inside the 1930s Great Depression world without food and shelter. After barely surviving in the 1930s world, they learn the true definition of ‘be careful what you wish for.

    -Buttercup, 8-12, Girl, Caucasian tech savvy girl, wants to become popular and a singer like her rival Coco. Must know how to sing and act.

    -Coco, 8-12, Girl, Caucasian fashionable and witty girl, loves attention and popular in middle school. Coco enjoys showing off her musical talent in front of others. Must know how to sing and act.

    -Jermaine, 8-12, Boy, African American, is a stylish cool and animated personality. He wants to become a professional boxer. Must know how to rap.

    -Dice, 8-12, Boy, Caucasian cool kid, is somewhat of a problem child always getting in trouble. He wishes he were a grown-up and is ready to graduate from middle school.

     

    -Benny, 9-13, Boy, Open to Any Race, is an unfair bully that reports back to Flame. Benny and Scar are inseparable; they bully kids together, take their lunch money, and skip school.

    Scar, 9-13, Boy, Open To Any Race, is a bully just like Flame and Benny. He’s silly and they don’t take him seriously.

    -Flame, 9-13, Boy, Caucasian intimidating kid, a ringleader bully. Everyone answers to him. He’s big and bad. When they get inside the app he controls them.

    Walter, 8-12, Boy, Sarcastic and witty manager at the fair.

    -Pearl, 8-12, Girl, Sarcastic and witty manager at the hotel.

    -Hat Owner, 8-12, Boy or Girl, A huge fan of boxer Joe Louis.

    -Antique Owner, 8-12, Girl or Boy, The helpful owner gives advice on finding a job.

    -Franchise Billy, 8-12, Boy, The silly comedian that enjoys huge crowds.

    -Peter, 8-12, Boy, Musicians heading to the theatre.

    -Louis, 8-12, Boy, He plays an instrument on the way to the Chicago Theatre with Peter.

    -Ms. Walker, 55 and Up, Female, She teaches the students about the 1930s Great Depression.

    -Principal Hawkins, Open to Any Age, Female or Male.

    -Jasmine The Leader, 8-9, Girl, A great depression leader with a powerful monologue, loves speaking in front of protesters.

    AUDITIONS WILL TAKE PLACE IN (FREDERICK MARYLAND JULY 22ND, D.C. JULY 23RD, AND VIRGINIA JULY 9TH)
    THE PERFORMANCE VENUE IS IN MARYLAND! OUTSIDE LOCATIONS ARE WELCOME TO AUDITION IF THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT PROJECT TO JOIN.
