FLYING V PRESENTS SPECIAL PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN STAGED READING OF ONE HALF OF THE UPCOMING NEW PLAY UNPLUGGED
BY SEAMUS SULLIVAN & HUNTER STYLES
The 27 Club – a group of brilliant, troubled musicians all dead before their time. Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse. But then what? Follow Kurt Cobain into the wilderness of Heaven for a long overdue talk with God. Rock and Roll is dead. Welcome to the after-party.
Unplugged by Jason Schlafstein
Unplugged is the combination of our past production, the sold out hit from Fringe 2012, Me and the Devil Blues by Seamus Sullivan, and a new companion piece by Hunter Styles about Kurt Cobain in Heaven. We are currently work-shopping the Cobain piece and will be staging a reading for an audience for the first time after a full weekend of development. This is an important part of this play’s development. After the show, we are going to have a discussion with the playwright and audience. The piece will premiere as a full production this Fall, and the discussions generated from this reading will have a direct impact on the future of this piece.
THE CREATIVE TEAM
This half of Unplugged is written by Hunter Styles and directed by Jason Schlafstein.
The cast will be featuring Flying V Company Member Aaron Bliden, joined by Monalisa Arias, JaBen Early, Emily Levey, and Rachael Murray.
This PWYC reading of Unplugged has one performance, at 7 pm on Sunday, May 12, 2013.
The staged reading will take place at:
The National Conservatory of the Dramatic Arts, in Georgetown –
located at 1556 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington, DC 20007.
To get to the NCDA entrance go to the rear entrance of the Georgetown Lutheran Church – entrance is on Volta Place (between P & Q streets) – second flight of stairs down into the basement level.
