I don’t know from Game of Thrones. I know a lot of people nerd out over it, hard, and it’s got dudes with swords doing dude with sword things. Season One is on my tv bucket list as is everything that Jason Momoa ever has been or ever will be naked in. That’s all I got. However, I think you could be in the same boat as me and totally enjoy Game of Thrones: Burlesque is Coming even though you may not know what the hell is going on.
Game of Thrones: … is being produced by two powerhouse producers in the DMV burlesque scene, Moxie LaBouche of TFW (Those Freaking Weirdos) Burlesque and Bella LaBlanc of Glit-O-Rama Productions. And it’s not just one show – it’s a mini Mid-Atlantic tour that started in early September with dates in Richmond and Roanoke.
If you’re in the Washington DC Metropolitan area you’ll want to stop by the Bier Baron on Friday, October 3 either for the 7:00 PM Show which is 18+ and no alcohol will be served or the 10:00 PM Show which is 21+ and alcohol will be served. The lineup for these shows is: boylesquer Dante the Inferno who is “the right tool for the job”; burly q newbie Zadora Zaftig; Lily Von Grimm, classically trained opera singer turned burlesquer Bree MaDonna, Blanche Boudoir of the DC Gurly Show and self-proclaimed Stepford Wife gone wild, Bella LaBlanc. The evening is hosted by Ego Von Hubris.
If you’re in Baltimore then check out the tour as it stops at the Creative Alliance where Bawdy Shop Burlesquer Kay Sera joins the lineup for one show at 8:00 PM. And if this is reaching you in Philadelphia then you’ll want to go to the Trocadero where the tour adds standup comic Ray Bullock.
